Nestled amidst the picturesque Scottish Highlands, Muckrach Country House stands as a quintessential retreat for those seeking the epitome of country sports experiences. Boasting a rich heritage dating back to the 19th century, this charming property offers a fusion of traditional elegance and contemporary luxury.

Steeped in Scottish history and built in 1861 as a shooting lodge for the large estate of Clan Grant, Muckrach Country House has since changed hands several times, and was once used as a convalescent home for wounded soldiers during World War I & II.

In 2014, Muckrach Country House was purchased by the current owners, who undertook an ambitious renovation project to restore the property to its former glory and grandeur. The meticulous restoration took 15 short months and involved a complete overhaul of the building’s infrastructure, as well as the addition of modern amenities and luxurious furnishings.

Today, Muckrach Country House is a stunning Scottish country house with its elegant Victorian facade, sweeping lawns, and lush gardens. The property boasts 11 luxurious guest rooms, as well as several common areas, including cosy lounges with log burning stoves, a library, piano bar, gun storage and a large dining room with views across the extensive grounds and sweeping vistas.

Despite its modern amenities, Muckrach Country House has retained much of its historic charm, with many of the original features of the house, such as the grand staircase and ornate plasterwork, which has been kept carefully intact. The property is a testament to the endearing beauty and allure of Scotland’s rich architectural heritage.
