While traveling through Scotland with my family, we had the pleasure of staying at Inverlochy Castle and shooting with Alex on our last full day in the country. As avid hunters/shooters at home in South Carolina, it was such a treat to enjoy one of our favorite pastimes with a fun and knowledgable outfit. Once he saw that we could shoot, Alex treated us like old friends shooting together, rather than instructor/student. We also thoroughly enjoyed his stories about his game hunting adventures, making us want to come back and join even more so than we already did. It was such a great way to end our trip, and we can't wait to return in the not-too-distant future! Thanks again, Achnacarry!

Thank you again for a truly "very special" and unforgettable stalking experience!! We had a number of very different and very enjoyable days out in the Scottish wilderness. Achnacarry Estate offers such a special landscape – incredibly beautiful and breathtaking. At one point, a herd of 50+ stags came trotting across the mountainside – what a sight! We had called it a day and were heading back – at least I thought so but John did not give up. After ascending yet another burn, we were finally lucky and had some final success thanks to John’s persistence. Then to be met by Billy and the pony to assist us to bring the stag back to base was great – and to be wandering behind the horse, giving a taste of the traditional way this was done in whilst the sun was setting, gave the day’s adventure a perfect ending. The bliss of then being welcomed back by a hot steaming bath, a whisky and a roaring fire followed by a good meal is hard to beat! The atmosphere is very friendly and everyone highly professional, well-informed about all the wildlife present, and also well-adversed with local history of which there is plenty. Again a huge Thank You!
