Glenmuick Estate is a traditional sporting estate situated in the heart of Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms National Park

It is surrounded by some of Scotland's most beautiful scenery and filled with all the wildlife, epic landscapes and sporting opportunity that make Scotland such a truly special place. The estate offers driven and walked up grouse shooting, Red and Roe deer stalking and salmon and sea trout fishing on the world famous River Dee. Luxury accommodation is available in either the truly spectacular Sporting Lodge or in one of the two delightful holiday cottages.

House of Glenmuick

Sleeps 20

The House of Glenmuick is a truly spectacular privately owned Scottish Sporting Lodge which is currently available for Luxury Holiday lets and Sporting Holidays.

Approached via a long private wooded drive the house sits in a stunning position overlooking Deeside surrounded by its well kept gardens. The house is in very good decorative order whilst retaining its homely ‘feel’ and it lends itself perfectly to both intimate groups and grand entertaining. The impressive Reception Hall welcomes guests and provides the hub of the house with its majestic fireplace. The impressive Drawing Room is comfortably appointed and well laid out for guests to enjoy a relaxing evening. The stunning Dining Room provides seating for 20 guests and its roaring fire creates a splendid atmosphere. The magnificent Games Room with two open fires provides a wonderful space for less formal entertaining and relaxation and includes a full sized billiard table and grand piano. There is also table football, table tennis and a sound system available for guests to use. There is also a playroom, drying room and well equipped Kitchen.

Upstairs there are a range of individually designed bedrooms offering single, twin and double beds to comfortably accommodate a party of up to 20. Many of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with wonderfully deep baths.

While the house exudes a traditional charm it is still equipped with modern necessities such as:

•MP3 compatible stereos.

Stables Cottage

Sleeps 6

Stables Cottage is a delightful Holiday Cottage in the heart of the Glenmuick estate and it is the largest of the estate's two Holiday Cottages. The cottage has been tastefully decorated throughout and provides an ideal base from which to explore Royal Deeside.

The cottage has three bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, kitchen, sitting room and dining room. Both reception rooms have open log fires and the sitting room has a freeview tv with dvd player.

The Kitchen is well equipped with:
•electric oven and hob

Heating is provided throughout the property and there is an adjacent drying room with washing facilities if required.

All linen, towels and logs are provided.

Antlers Cottage

Antlers Cottage is a cosy cottage set in the grounds of the Glenmuick estate. The cottage has been tastefully decorated throughout and provides an ideal base from which to explore Royal Deeside.

The cottage has two bedrooms with a bathroom, kitchen, sitting room and dining room. The sitting room has an open log fire and Freeview TV with DVD player.

The Kitchen is well equipped with:
•electric oven and hob

Heating is provided throughout the property.

All linen, towels and logs are provided.

Royal Deeside offers a wealth of activities ranging from hill walking to distilleries, and castles to craft centres. The town of Ballater is within walking distance and has an excellent range of shops and restaurants. Balmoral Castle is also a short drive upstream and well worth a visit.


Hill Walking

The Cairngorms National Park offers some of the most spectacular landscapes in Scotland along with a huge variety of wildlife. For more information about the park and access please visit the Cairngorms National Park website.

Cycling is another great way to explore the local area and bike hire is available in Ballater at the Bike Station in Ballater.



On the other side of the river Dee to Glenmuick is the beautiful 18 hole Ballater Golf Course.



There are several tennis courts for hire next to the Ballater Golf Club.


Horse Riding

Horse riding and private tuition is available on the neighbouring Glen Tanar Estate.



Ballater has a large range of shops for all your everyday and country sport needs as well as a spot of retail therapy.



Just over half an hour's drive from Glenmuick is Glenshee - Scotland’s premier snow sports resort. Glenshee has 21 lifts and 36 runs offering an exciting and varied skiing experience. With winter snowfall having been higher and more consistent in recent years, why go to mainland Europe when it’s all here?
