Visitors to the BASC Gamekeepers’ Fair on 12th and 13th of April at Catton Park, Walton on Trent, Derbyshire can take part in a range of clay shooting competitions.

A 50-bird open competition will see participants compete for cash prizes across five stands in Catton Estate’s parkland. The stands include small spinneys and wooded areas.

The top shots from each day will return for a shoot-off on Sunday with the winner receiving a Benelli 12 bore semi-automatic shotgun. All participants will be entered into a free prize draw for the chance to win a voucher worth £250 for the outdoor clothing and equipment retailer, Bushwear.

BASC Gamekeeper members who take part in the open clay shoot can also compete in the National Gamekeepers’ clay shoot for no extra charge. Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three scores on each day. The person with the highest score overall will win a trophy.

Lady guns can also take home some great prizes in the women-only competition, run with the Shotgun and Chelsea Bun Club, featuring a warm-up stand of ten shots and two nominated stands of the 50 bird layout.

Steve Bloomfield, BASC England director, said: “We are offering clay competitions to all visitors to the Gamekeepers’ Fair. There are some great prizes on offer but you don’t have to be a top shot to win. Every participant over the two days will be entered into the Bushwear draw so even if you don’t hit a clay all day, you could still go home a winner.”

Entry to the open competition is £20 and re-entry is £17. Participants will have their own car park.
