Brexit and Country Sports Travellers from the EU
As of 31st December 2020, the UK is no longer a member of the European Union and, while many rules have changed, particularly for UK citizens travelling abroad, for EU citizens travelling to the UK for sport the guidance remains largely the same. Thus a European Firearms Pass will still be valid for those in the EU wishing to bring a firearm or shotgun to the UK in order to carry out country sports – for more information see our guidance here. As there have been instances of airlines refusing to carry firearms we would always recommend that you check with your airline at time of booking to ensure that you comply with their conditions of carriage.
For those wishing to bring their gundogs from an EU country, according to the gov.uk guidelines an EU pet passport issued in a member state is still valid to enter the UK; for more information see our guidance here.
We look forward to being able to welcome all our overseas visitors back to Scotland once the pandemic is over and we are able to travel freely again!
